Cryptsoft continues to extend its role as the dominant
supplier of Key Management Interoperability Protocol
(KMIP) toolkits to the database technologies sector by
adding ScyllaDB, Ltd., to their list of premier database
customers.
"With database customers demanding encryption supported
by standards-based key management systems via KMIP, we
needed a conformant solution that would help us provide
the next level of security for our customers. Our core
requirements were for a trusted, market-proven, easy
to integrate, drop-in KMIP client-side implementation
that would give us immediate and seamless access to the
entire multi-vendor KMIP ecosystem.
Choosing to license from the market
leading KMIP technology provider was an easy decision
for us. Not only did their product meet and exceed our
minimum technical requirements, but licensing also gave
us access to Cryptsoft's invaluable KMIP market and
integration knowledge, reducing the engineering time
required to integrate the SDK and getting our engineers
back to other critical projects sooner.

The Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) and the
Static Analysis Results Interchange Format (SARIF) were both
awarded the 2018 Open Standards Cup by the OASIS international
consortium in recognition of exceptional advancements within the
IT community.
"Encryption Key Management continues to evolve, and with the
fourth version of KMIP (v1.4) we have completed the initial
objectives of the technical committee in addressing fundamental
enterprise needs. In KMIP 2.0, the KMIP TC is now embracing a
wider set of functionality required to meet modern enterprise
security challenges, and we welcome input from security
practitioners and users as we continue on our journey," said
KMIP co-chairs, Tony Cox and Judy Furlong.

Cryptsoft continues to extend its role as the global
market-leading supplier of Key Management Interoperability
Protocol (KMIP) technologies to the storage and infrastructure
market segments, including virtual storage appliances and
software, hyperconverged systems and encrypting storage
controllers by adding StorMagic® SvSAN Data Encryption to
Cryptsoft's long list of valued customers in the storage
vertical.
"Cryptsoft is a key part of StorMagic's SvSAN Data Encryption
solution for edge computing. Encrypting data in hyperconverged
solutions is critical for these environments because they typically don't
have a secure datacenter to depend on. Cryptsoft's KMIP SDK
has made it easy for us to integrate with the industry's leading
key management providers."
said Hans O'Sullivan, CEO, StorMagic.

At the RSA Conference 2018, members of the OASIS
international consortium collaborate to demonstrate their
support for new features in two of the industry's most
widely-adopted security standards, the Key Management
Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) Standard and the
Public-Key Cryptography (PKCS) #11 Standard.
"As the need to encrypt data within the enterprise
continues to grow, especially in the face of GDPR
and mandatory data breach notice compliance, so too
does the need to manage the keys, certificates, and
security-relevant information. It is this need that
drives the continual evolution of the standards that
enable secure and seamless integration of critical
cybersecurity tools into the enterprise.
The demonstration of both the
KMIP and PKCS#11 standards provides booth attendees with
a clear view of how mainstream products are implementing
conformant solutions and showing live interaction between
vendor solutions."
said Tony Cox
of Cryptsoft, co-chair of the OASIS KMIP and PKCS#11
Technical Committees and Lead for both the KMIP and
PKCS11 Interop events.
